Graduated from Virginia Military Institute (VMI) in 1966 with a B.S.
in Civil Engineering.
Received regular commission as a 2ndLt U.S. Marine Corps. Attended The Basic School (TBS) and assigned Infantry MOS. Orders to 1stMarDiv Republic of Vietnam.
Assumed command of 1st Platoon Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment.
After completion of field assignment appointed as Assistant Operations Officer Northern Sector Defense Command, DaNang.
Assigned to Marine Barracks, 8th & I, Washington, D.C. Staff assignment followed by Command of Headquarters company 8th & I. Promoted to Captain.
July 1970 returned to Vietnam, Command I Company 3/1. Battalion returned to Camp Pendleton May of 1971. Received orders to VMI and established NROTC Unit. Promoted to Major. In 1977, attended USMC Command & Staff College, Quantico, Virginia. Returned overseas to Okinawa as S3 1/9. Following assignment, HQMC, Action Officer/Section Head Training Division. Promoted to LT Colonel.
Assumed Directorship Marine Staff NCO Academy, Quantico, Virginia. Attended War College in Australia and later assumed responsibilities as Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for ANZUS Treaty. Promoted to Colonel.
Assigned to IGMC and appointed as Deputy IGMC…two years. Transferred to 3rd MarDiv as G3. Returned to HQMC as Deputy IG. Retired June 1996.
Moved to Naples and joined the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.
Over 24 plus years, numerous positions and promotions.
Culminating in assignment as Chief of Investigations. Retired February 2021.
